I wanted the special day and one of the important milestones of my life to be documented beautifully. In searching for the actual day photographer whom I can entrust, I found a big local listing for me to browse. I checked out the shooter’s websites and Facebook pages for other weddings they have shot, reviews from recent brides, then selected a few that stood out. I was looking for photos that are edgy and yet pleasing to the eyes. Jooi Wah was chosen for his responsiveness, professionalism, and most importantly his style of photography. I was very impressed with the product of his work.
We finalized on the wedding date, did all that was needed and waited for our big day. Then Bersih 3.0 announced the rally was going to happen on the same day as our wedding. Oh my… should move the date or make other plans? In faith we decided to pray and leave everything to the hands of God. Praise God the day went ahead smoothly, the traffic was manageable and we arrived to all the locations on time!
It was a busy day. Jooi Wah and his assistant were there during the morning “chip san leong” (fetch the bride) which happened in Seremban, then traveled to Brickfields Holy Rosary Church followed by lunch reception in Tropicana Golf Resort. They were like paparazzi, shadowing our every move, countless of memorable shots taken throughout the entire hectic day. We were asked not to pose at the camera but try to act as natural as possible to produce the photo-journalistic results. Occasionally the shot was made with an object like a person, a flower stand or the door frame in the foreground to create the unconventional framing effect.
Overall I was satisfied with Jooi Wah’s professionalism, honesty and for the nice images he captured. The the deliverables were sent on the dot as promised. The thing I wished could be different was if he didn’t miss the early morning makeup session. When the photographers arrived, my makeup was already done.
