For beach wedding, it is recommended to take the hotel packages as they have the facilities and resources to organize a complete beach wedding ceremony and reception.

1. Wedding Package

The wedding packages usually include beach wedding essentials like decorations for the ceremonial altar, petal aisle, welcome signage, pre-ceremony refreshments, wedding cake, romantic dinner for the couple and so on.

2. Wedding Planner

Beach resorts have their own wedding planners for the basic services, and customized services at additional cost. If you require additional decorations and services you can always hire an external wedding planner:

3. Officiant/ Celebrant

Selected resorts provide a Celebrant (not marriage registrar) to solemnize the wedding. For the JPN registrar representative to be present to conduct the registration of marriage, special arrangements have to be made (by yourself or a wedding planner).

Warm and wonderful service from the get go by the Four Seasons team! Special thanks to Ellie and Aida for taking such great care of us throughout the whole planning and preparation process of our wedding. Being some what of a bridezilla, it was great to have such attention to detail being paid by the team to fulfil my.. I mean OUR dream destination wedding. We had a meeting with Aida 3 months before the wedding to discuss the decorations, layout of the beach and dinner reception as well as to have our food tasting. Everything from that day on carried out as smooth as I hoped it to be. Our wedding day was held on rather a dry period of the year so we opted for an el fresco dinner held at Upper Serai that was wonderfully decorated with flowers of my choice and draped with fairy lights, and of course to start the reception with our beach ceremony. As guests trickled in, I was constantly being updated by Ellie on the situation during the cocktail session and to signal my husband and I to start our walk down the aisle (thank you for being my spy and calming my nerves hehe). We played fun and interactive games as an ice breaking opportunity which our guests were fully entertained by (just search fun wedding games on google, I highly recommend picking one or two out as a way to keep things fun and light!). Thanks again so much for accommodating our needs for the games like getting us the glass bowl and (fairly medium sized) banana lol! After the sunset photography session we adjourned for dinner where our guests enjoyed a delicious 4 course menu beautifully curated by Chef Sandeep. Our wedding cake was a 2 tier cake with roses that matched the entire wedding decor. Overall, we and our guests had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the amazing hospitality that one can only receive by Four Seasons. Thank you again for realising our dream wedding!

Review Jan 2016: The Datai is surrounded with lush tropical rainforest, filled with wildlife. The beach (Teluk Datai) is by far the most beautiful on Langkawi Island. The sand is like powder and the waters clear as crystal. I chose the beach villa so that I would have ample space for make up and to get ready for the wedding. It was also a great place for my photographers and videographers to capture the essence of “The Datai”. We also had the “gate-crashing” and “Chinese tea-ceremony” in the villa. Our stay in the beach villa was beyond our expectations! We had our own butler (service was quite good and prompt). He was efficient and friendly and tried his best to make our stay memorable and a very happy one. My husband and I stayed in the neach villa for the eve and the day of our wedding. It was definitely the best setting for our dream wedding. Our videographers and photographers made use of this environment to capture our wedding and post-wedding shoot and judging ny their photos, we made the right choice!
