Let me bring you through the beach wedding of Linda and Farouk held at Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi carefully planned by Hooi Joo. As you scroll down the page, you will see a collection of photos with a detailed description explaining how the wedding was organized.
Farouk, who is a film producer, had shot a commercial at the beach many years back and was totally smitten with the place. The white sandy beach is overlooking the Andaman Sea, nestled within the canopy of rhu trees. To complement the venue, the inspired theme revolved around rhu (casuarina) trees and its fruit. These trees are in abundant along the beach and the road leading to Tanjung Rhu. The oval, woody fruit would became the emblem of the wedding, which was elegantly designed on stationeries and décors. The couple had also opted for a white and green palette, to signify elegance and simplicity. The ceremony took place overlooking the islets.

For personal touch, Farouk and Linda had written personal messages to welcome each guest which were placed inside glass bottle place cards at the reception dinner. The dinner menu was impressive and a feast to the eye; Carpaccio of Venison Tenderloin, Lobster Bisque, Kalamansi Sorbet served in ice moulded bowls. The main courses were Roasted Lamb Rack and Pan Fried Salmon Fillet. To everyone’s delight, Banana crème Brulee with orange mango salsa was served for dessert. As the dinner progressed, toasts were made around the tables. The master of ceremonies then invited the newlyweds for their first dance, luring the guests to the dance floor tucked at a corner amidst the trees.

A tropical floral chuppah was set up with a

Later the vows were placed in a glass bottle filled with sand and rhu trees’ fruits which will remind them of their commitment to each other.

bouquet of calla lilies beach
Linda glowed radiantly in her white cord lace gown and holding a bouquet of calla lilies.
jungle luxe location wedding feast
The couple led the guests into a lantern procession to the dining area. This gave the guests a little suspense as they were ushered away from the ceremonial area for dinner. Instead of hosting the dinner at the beach, the couple chose a jungle-luxe location for the wedding feast.
tree trunks wild leaves
The guests were greeted by white floating lanterns and lush trees. Later they were seated at a rectangular table set-up surrounding a verdant tree. This reclining tree trunks with moss, wild leaves and flowers became the main attraction of the dining experience. The brilliant table set-up not only linked all the guests in adjoining tables, it also allowed them to face each other.
round wire mesh garland
Tropical theme centrepieces were created to enhance the jungle-luxe experience. Round wire-mesh wrapped in Garland’s Gold leaves and lemon grass were created to hold candles.
magical balls of fire
As the evening breeze blown, the floating lanterns gave a magical effect as if balls of fire illuminated the whole area.
REVIEWS
Mar 2010
A good measure of the credit goes to wedding planner Hooi Joo of
Table 10 weddings. Everything was on time and the whole event ran smoothly.
Good job, girl!
Jan 2010
Srihari comes from a Brahmin background & Li-Hsian a Chinese
background. Both of them had 2 different cultural ceremonies…first their
Chinese Tea ceremony on the 30th of January at KL Hilton and the next day,
31st January,2010 the Brahmin ceremony at Raja Rajeswari Temple, Ampang. And
this is what we call cultural bliss…colorful yet so meaningful!
There was no specific theme for the wedding but both the families did
dress traditionally for each ceremony. The decorations depicted Saree
ribbons, Chinese lanterns, “Ganesha” chants (related to Indian culture)
& the invitations had a motive of Chinese “double happiness”
and the Indian “Ohm” character.
We were also touched with the ambiance Hooi Joo from Table 10 created
on that day. Table 10 was the wedding planner of this wedding. Table 10,
specializes in planning weddings especially large scale dinner receptions at
premier hotels. Hooi Joo has been in this industry for the past 10 years…
& Table 10 was launched in since 2004.
