Built on the fringes of the natural virgin jungles of Bukit Lanjan, Subak aims to emulate the concept of the dynamic Balinese culture that is constantly fusing the old and traditional, by blending its rustic decor with functional yet unique furniture and fittings. The soothing sounds of flowing water from their fresh water spring, and the natural cacophony of crickets and other jungle dwellers is a unique backdrop for a back-to-nature rustic wedding.

Couples have the options of having their receptions at the cosy restaurant, go al-fresco on the “Alang-Alang” roofed wooden deck overlooking a man-made pond named Serambi, or enjoy an intimate celebration in the hillside deck aptly named Loteng. The place is beautiful especially at night as the lighting is catered for a romantic ambience. Definitely one of the most romantic places in KL. The entire venue is very green and very earthy. Their dining tables and chairs are made out of Indonesian teak wood and left bare in display.

Subak’s menu is a mix of Asian and international flavors. To give an idea of the menu; Char grilled Wagyu Beef, Rendang Serai Daging Tulang Rawan comes with a big chunk of beef ribs that has been stewing for hours. As a result the meat is incredibly tender with a strong flavor of spices, perfect to be eaten with rice, Chunky Wild Mushroom Soup, Rasberry Bandung with Roses Flavour… these are some of Chef Yusri’s gastronomic creations.

We were scouting for a place to hold my wedding reception and we were so fortunate to find this hidden jewel. The restaurant was tucked inside a semi-jungle on top of a hill. We met with the friendly manager and he ‘belanja’ my family and i dinner. The place was so beautiful especially at night as the lighting was catered for a romantic ambience. Definitely one of the most romantic places in KL. They were kind enough to come up with a whole new menu to cater to our budget and theme. Did i mention that the food was delicious too? I highly recommend Subak for functions and events.

The entire venue is very green and in keeping with nature was very earthy. Their dining tables and chairs were made out of Indonesian teak wood and left bare in display. I loved the simplicity in the venue as it provided a great opportunity to be decorated to theme.
